What distinguishes stepper motors?

Stepper motors have an uncomplicated design. The rotor position and the rotation speed of the rotor can be easily controlled. The torque of the motor is very high at a low speed of rotation. There are no brushes in the design of the motor. This contributes to high mechanical resistance and reliability.

Another important feature is the ease of motor control: quick start thanks to the high torque, easy stop thanks to the high holding torque and the ability to quickly change the direction of rotation.

DC motors vs. brushless DC (BLDC) motors: What’s the difference?

In contrast to the DC brushed motor, the permanent magnet in the BLDC motor is attached to the rotor. The stator is made of grooved, coated steel and contains the coil windings. Neither brushes nor a mechanical commutator are used in the BLDC. As a result, the BLDC motor has a much longer service life.

What can linear systems be used for specifically?

Linear systems have a compact and lightweight design and are space-saving. With the compact lightweight design, linear systems are suitable for use in various areas where precise and fast linear movements are required. Examples include handling technology, positioning tasks, assembly automation, quality inspections and surveying technology.
