New optical 18 Bit Absolute-Encoder!

Next systems longstanding partner pwb Encoders is introducing a new optical reflective Absolute-Encoder.

The ABG head is a encoder head that, when combined with a dedicated encoder-disc, forms a complete, absolute encoder kit system. This encoder head is suitable for small, medium and large disc diameters. We see particular attention in the use of large continuous hollow shafts.

The code-disc is glued to a hub or rail and optically scanned with the encoder head. The required air gap of 1.65mm ± 0.15 is already given by the aluminum carrier. The code-disc diameter determines the native resolutions. By internal signal conditioning almost arbitrary selectable resolutions are possible. The encoder offers an optimal price / performance ratio, maximum compactness of electronics, optics and mechanics and excellent performance.
